Welcome to Project Bookdrop! My name is Gabi Kielkucki and I am currently in the last week of my junior year at Beckman Catholic High School. Next year, I am applying to Tulane University and for their Dean's Honor Scholarship. For this scholarship, students must create a creative project that demonstrates what they are passionate about. I have many passions in my life, so picking just one thing was going to be difficult. After many weeks of considering different topics, I settled on the perfect idea.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved to read. I like to make the joke that I have my own private library due to the sheer amount of books that I personally own. Reading has always brought me joy and I knew that I wanted to share some of this joy with people all over the world. So, for my project, I will be working with The African Library Project to host a book drive in order to build a library for children living in Ghana, Africa. Along with my collection, I will also be making blog posts like this and stay active on social media.
Stay tuned for more information on the ALP, what kind of books to donate, and how to donate!
Mah Krow,
Gabi
